Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Congress (CYSC) was launched by Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology (CCOST), Raipur to promote the young talents of the state. Young Scientist Congress is organized every year to mark the discovery of “Raman Effect” by Indian Physicist Sir Chandrasekhar Venkata Raman on 28^th February. The Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology , a nodal agency of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in Chhattisgarh, was instituted in 2001 with a view to optimize sustainable development of the State through Science and Technology. Some of the major objectives of the council are, to identify the areas where Science and Technology input is required for progress of the state, to ensure better utilization of the resources of the state and to promote and popularize science for modernization of the state. National Institute of Technology Raipur (An Autonomous institute of National Importance) fully funded by the Govt. of India.  NIT Raipur is located in Raipur, the Capital City of Chhattisgarh State and spread over an area of approx. 100 acres.
